Oh, I think we’re way beyond the tipping point

once one is feeling the slide happening, one realises that the point was passed quite some time ago

no amount of digging in heels or fingers will help now

Normally I have some solutions, even if radical - but when one has allowed oneself to have exited the aircraft at 20,000 feet without a parachute

then one cannot just jump back up and get in the plane again

all one can do is to enjoy the ride to the bottom and try to perhaps learn to glide on the way down
