Maybe there is something else to consider, I am just wondering if part of the Paducah thing is that the DoE either pay for or at least help with the funding for the Paducah plant, which could possibly be used for other purposes rather than just the tails cleanup, perhaps this new plant (if built?) could also be used to enrich other actinides from other nuclear waste, things that are used in nuclear medicine or industry etc could also be enriched at Paducah?
When or if this new plant is built, I believe the DoE will actually earn something from what is produced, because I believe they have been the ones to help develop IP that would allow some of what I am talking about to occur!
Again this is only my opinion gleaned from what I have read and connecting some dots perhaps?
