These electric cars can be a problem for rescue personnel when crashed as they carry a very large voltage which could kill. I have also read that the main power feed cable is brightly coloured so it isn't fooled with or attempted to be cut.
The public needs to be informed of the dangers of these things in case some body with no knowledge attempts to pull some one from an EV wreckage. Exploding batteries are not much fun...
