Hard not to agree with you. However, somewhat ironically, the troubles started long before Dan. In my view it was a huge blunder and enormous risk to not simply fess up entirely after the original 100 million dollar man was 'made'. Had the perfect scapegoat right there. Big mistake not to take that chance. The continuation of various charades since then has only made things worse despite some great exploration successes. Dargues being the biggest charade, in my view. The Federation/Hera complex 'scenario' with the non-sequitur of trucking to goddamn peak, being the most recent dubious charade. you could see that nice 25% correction a mile off and took full advantage of it.
