Good on you KBJ for having the willpower to go cold turkey and give up.
I've been smoking for 40 years, and have tried everything else but medication, so I'm trying the Champix as a last resort.
You're right about changing habits mate, and avoiding the usual situations that trigger smoking is probably the hardest thing, like avoiding beer and coffee etc, and not going outside at lunchtime.
With the Champix, you've got to keep on smoking for between 8 to 14 days after starting the tablets, while the dose increases over that time.
I wanna give it a red hot go, and my smoking cessation date is next Wednesday.
The only other alternative I see, is to go into solitary confinement for 12 months, with no ciggies!!
Smoking is a dirty, expensive and health sapping habit, and I feel like a social leper when standing outside puffing away at lunchtime.
Please wish me luck, I need it!!!!
