I attended an auction recently and came away with the thought that most people should not be allowed to bid at auctions or negotiate a sale without a 'professional" to assist them
I watched this elderly lady bid against the palm trees on the nature strip to a price which was well beyond the property value
An agent signs an authority with an owner to sell a property and that is the person that he/she works for
There is no suggestion in the law that he can also work as a buyers agent
He can be sued by the owner for not using his best endeavors to obtain the best price in that he is allowed to use extravagant sales talk to inflate the benefits of the property us long as he doesn't lie about the facts
But it is hard to be honest in a nest of vipers!
Politicians, film stars, TV people, sports stars, etc they all happily lie
The plain simple fact of any sort of business dealings these days is in the words of a police TV show "Do it to them before they do it to you"
