Thanks Rockstar, I haven't actually been to the accountant yet as I got tied up with some family stuff in the last few weeks. We are in our early 50's and coming out of the fun in raising four kids. So we are starting to think about other investment approaches like SMSFs are they sometimes discussed with my work mates as most of them are now in the 50 and 60's as well. We have some shares and are starting to accumulate more atm but wondered if the SMSF was a better way to gain more wealth in the future. As I said in one of my earlier posts, one bloke I was discussing it with was all for the SMSF and another was more ambivalent towards the idea. We are not in a hurry but it is great to hear others real life experiences in dealing with them.
