    I was thinking the 3 different fabric's submitted were related to FR effectiveness and weight but maybe not - it could be for the 3 different uniform types the Marines use.

    The below is the current situation noting the 3 different uniforms [these slides are from a 2022 Federal & Defence Textile Summit]

    This is a slide pertaining to the NEXGEN uniforms --- note the potential timing may be out in the grey box - I reckon by a couple of quarters (DLA will be the Defence Logistics Agency - UE will be User Evaluation - SRP ?? perhaps suggested retail price / soldier readiness program??)

    Interestingly the Marines could also be looking at FR on Body armour (hey and what about cooling?)
