A month or so ago they lost one of their FA-18s to friendly fire and were lucky not to lose the second one in the flight. Fortunately the crew of the stricken aircraft ejected safely.
Then they collided with a cargo ship suffering what was minor damage, in which case the Captain was ejected stateside.
Now they have lost another FA-18 and tug overboard. Things are unclear but it seems there was a manoeuvre to avoid a missile attack and the aircraft, being unchained, slid overboard. There would have been one seaman on the tug and another riding the brakes but the guy in the cockpit would not have the option of the bang seat - the pins would have still been in but he scrambled out OK.
