they are leading the development of a great deal of the tech for zero emissions energy production. they're ahead in the race to develop nuclear fusion.
they are the largest manufacturer/exporter (of course) and have the greatest amount of renewable energy installed of any country by a country mile (and a half). to suggest they aren't sure about renewable energy? perhaps you haven't read much of their extensive energy production hike to, in the true communist spirit, "lift all the country out of poverty" by energising the entire economy. thats actually their reason for continuing to build coal fired plants.
