A recent advert for casual staff for 20 centres within the Northern Beaches states 'above award rates available'.
Current job vacancies within G8 are advertised as standing at 325. Highly qualified quality staff can take their pick of any job in early childhood, perhaps G8 are now going to pay over the award to attract those staff to their organisation. A bit similar to their theory and current practice for attracting and retaining board members and senior managers, through salaries and incentives.
Still no depth of experience in early childhood education and care on the board. Perhaps they are under the assumption, that it is beyond the bounds of possibility, to find a balance between quality service delivery and profit.
A quote from one of the newest board members "it is a balancing act and I found it beneficial to take advantage of opportunities as they presented themselves. When I was offered a senior marketing role whilst pregnant, I took it as opportunities like that don't come along everyday and I worked flexibly with my partner and nanny".
There will be very few new enrolments between now and the end of the year. Focus should be on 2018 and strengthening links within local communities to improve enrolments.
