    Homegrown ViB

This week's International Herald Tribune story about caffeinated energy drinks causing risky behavior in teenagers has two Dallas entrepreneurs nodding and saying, "Told you so." Just last month, Travis Hollman and Johnny De La Valdene launched their relaxation beverage, ViB Chill-N (Vacation in a Bottle) with a celebrity-packed party at Ghostbar.

Their ViB investors include singer Jessica Simpson, hockey player Mike Modano, Dallas Cowboy Jason Witten, Mavs president Donnie Nelson and former Cowboy Marco Rivera, all of whom are touting good vibes from the pomegranate-and-berry- flavored drink.

Travis and Johnny are the brains behind the air-powered marshmallow shooter and its associated WMDs (Weapons of Marshmallow Dispersal).

"We were at a toy fair and saw this guy drinking an energy drink and eating a doughnut," says Travis. "He passed out and started to convulse. The paramedics came and said they see it all the time."

That's when the light went on. "Everybody is taking Xanax and things to relax," says Travis. "We thought, 'Why hasn't anybody come up with a drink that calms you down?' "

After two years of research and a big assist from marketing students at SMU, they launched ViB. "It's a mood enhancer," says Travis. "It's amino acids and vitamins. It doesn't make you tired, but it is relaxing. We're here to calm everybody down."
