The fear is being fuelled by the fact the goal posts are being moved by the govt giving rise to doubts about the vaccine. Like you I accepted the Astra Zeneca but if there is an official view that Pfizer or other alternatives have greater efficacy and less side effects and if the govt gave me that option I would have gone for the latter rather than the Astra Zeneca.
This change has raised concerns and will probably cause many to defer their vaccination hoping to access a better vaccine option. For me its to late as I have received the Astra Zeneca jab.
Yes, they tell us risk is low but that's no consolation to an otherwise healthy person who is unfortunate enough to die from vaccination, when if they had been been offered Pfizer they would still be alive.
The govt imo bet too much on Astra Zeneca instead of the more expensive options which have greater efficacy and safety.
