People under 50 are now being recommended to take the Pfizer vaccine. However at the same time the message is they can still take the Astra Zeneca because its considered safe but the reason for recommending Pfizer is due to the Astra Zeneca is maybe not safe for under 50s. How confusing is that? Then we hear that in the UK they have recommended that people under 30 receive an alternative to the Astra Zeneca however for us its age 50. That's confusing too. Then you have these arbitrary ages such as under 50 and 30. Well how confident would one be if say they were 50 or 51 and have to take the Astra Zeneca. Does that one year difference actually make it safe to take the Astra Zeneca compared to a 49 year old. IMO as todays press release on this gets widely covered in the media it will understandably worry the hell out of a lot of people."What happened today, Thursday 8 April 2021

- The government announced people under 50 would now be recommended to take the Pfizer vaccine, following findings of the British and European regulators over concerns about the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine causing blood clots.
- At a snap press conference on Thursday evening, Scott Morrison said he was unable to say what impact the new advisory would have on the rollout, but he conceded it would need to be “recalibrated”.
- Overnight, a key UK government health committee recommended offering people under 30, considered at a higher risk of the rare blood clotting, the option to receive an alternative vaccine."
