now the far-right posters - after contributing a lot to turning the Politics thread into a toxic forum - are using a by the right derided leftie, i.e Pilger, in support of their attacks on Mandela demanding Mandela should have done what Hugo Chavez did, i.e. nationalise most of the SA economy.

Chavez got away with that because Venezuela is sitting on HUGE oil deposits.
South Africa has nothing like that.
If Mandela had nationalised the most important industries the British and the Americans would not have tolerated that, ensured that the economy collapsed and that Mandela suffered a similar fate as Allende.
