When I started at 4BC in 2006 I was struck by a pallet of XXXX Gold stubbies in the staff-room.
"What's the Four-X for?", I asked, hoping there might be a party on the way.
"Don't touch that, it's Tommy's", said Peter Dick, "He gets paid in beer for talking footy on the radio".
And it was true, a couple of slabs per outing.
Even though he was a NSW hero, Tommy was part of the Queensland furniture - sporting royalty.
He was loved by everyone.
He'll be hugely missed.
Rest in Peace Tommy.
