He was such a slight guy yet had the courage of a lion.That's why he got the ball so much .And he was targeted week-in week -out in an era when you could get away with almost anything.Remember the shirt -fronts in the VFL days.....You could line up a guy 100 metres away.
The only reason he looked so sublime ( never used that to describe a player !) was his total courage.He had to get the ball first.
The complete footballer.Guts beyond measure with equal amounts of sheer artistry.Anyone can look good in a winning team .
