I can't understand your usual 'axe to grind' tone and statements you continue to make about Arc. Could you please explain it to me? It wasn't that long ago that ARC was IN your list of stocks in your signature, with a very positive outlook on the Canning Basin! What do you now know about the Canning that has made you realise it's time to start digging in the heals? There is nothing wrong to move on from a stock if it no longer meets your investment/trading strategies, but to go on about its under-performance isn't going to get anybody anywhere, after all, it could at anytime bolt out of the blocks, with all that's going on.
Fundamentally, nothing has changed since you obviously sold out, as a matter of fact, ARC will be in a stronger position thanks to the acquisitions, new exploration potential in several basins and of course Canning Success potential. I don't expect the market to pay a premium for Arc shares until they can prove Canning was the right move - I don't think that will be too far away either!
It would be great for once, that you show some understanding of the oil&gas game and realise how difficult it is to grow reserves!
Now onto the point of the thread - Maddoc
Valentine and Sugarloaf are vastly different wells, with different structures that will require different development techniques if we see success.
Sugar is a significantly deeper prospect, low porosity/permeability and will possibly require fraccing and horizontal wells to get it to flow economically!
Valentine/Stokes Bay, with what we know so far (more so Stokes Bay at this point) could be developed cheaper and more conventionally due to what seems like decent reservoir that could potentially flow with no drama - even condensate! ;)
When talking about expectations, that's where all the problems arise! Who is expecting what, and why? Arc and other JV's certainly haven't been going around talking up the prospects, i see more of the 'expectation' coming from the forums from posters who say they know people on the rigs, blah, blah. If people get sucked into these types of posts, particularly on a stock that is a day traders dream (i'm sure we all know which partner i'm talking about), then the losses we may make on a slashing of share prices due to listening to people pumping in hot money, can only be attributed to our bad judgment if we listen to them.
That's my take on it anyway.
Cheers.
