Yes this is true,but there are also other factors that may come into play,eg continue with the exploration and increasing the resource value,and with time and new tecknologies arriving,which may/may not result in recovery costs to decrease,then what was uneconomical then may become profitable,similar to some oil companies that had this outcome.Just another point to consider when looking at such cases.
