I expect that Van Eck know how many shares that their ETFs hold pretty much in real time.
The same way that Commsec knows how many shares I own and will be entitled to upon settlement of trades.
It appears that Van Eck update their holdings website to the prior day's date, at about 6.30am NY time (which is late evening AEDT).
I just looked at the price of NST following the open.
Like the ruined stock broker said, as he plummeted down past the 10th floor, so far so good.
