Greendevil. Yes Constancia is derisked, carrying a feas study. Yes low strip. But needed it because you?ll notice that for a 0.2%Cu cutoff its average grade is a bit lower than Calatos.
I notice Norsemont in Jan 2011 update quoted expected op costs of US$0.93 per lb, for treating approx. 25mtpa ore, initial capex ~ US$920m?
MNC wd hope Calatos might be 50mtpa operation? And op costs below US$1 a lb? even if strip higher than Constancia?
But key point about Calatos is that it?s a much bigger deposit. Its resources already double Constancia and drilling has hardly started. Drilling at Constancia is well over 100,000 metres.
The game at Calatos is to find another dep as big as Cuajone, Toquepala etc. Another league.
Yes some of new capital goes to Chile but 50,000m program underway at Calatos. And if resources keep growing its v unlikely drilling wd stop there?
So Peru and Chile projects move in parallel?
Peru election? V unlikely indeed Humala will win runoff?
