Bluebottle, Good post but your figure of 7.6c/lb for copper is a long way short of Straw's 19.7c. I was very prepared to accept Staws figures as he is involved in the business of copper mining.
From his post:
"Norsemont had Proven & Probable copper assets of: 277.4Mt @.43% Cu = 1,192.8Kt Cu = 2,629,673,836 lbs Cu. Now if we divide the $520m Hudbay paid by the 2,629,673,836 lbs of Cu we can see that they paid 19.7c per lb."
No mention of any Moly but that would only push the figure higher - would imagine that the 19.7c was meant to be for copper equiv.
