In no way is this intended to be any type of ramping.
I do not hold stock here and do not intend too. I have heard through circles that companies like GMG are having a hard time with valuers, especially in the UK and Europe.
Valuer's in these areas are tending to broad brush classes of property with large downward revaluations without regard to the individual quality of the assets held (i.e. tenant, location, construction etc). I believe companies like GMG have dispatched qualified persons to these areas to examine the independent valuations and insisting on review with varying level of success. I have no particular knowledge of any outcomes just the broad issue of how independent valuations are occurring.
Further, these "circles" suggest that banks are willing to refinace on the lower valuations, but to do so are extracing an exhorbitant placement fee to do so, as well as increased margin.
Maybe, GMG by finding a "strategic" investor, is looking to circumvent the increased finance cost through the valuation methodology in play in various areas. I suspect GMG is not alone with regard to valuations and banking practices, as there is evidence of this fee gouging occurring elsewhere.
I really hope it all works out well for you all, as though I am not an investor I do enjoy reading this thread.
