I'm happy the GCN SP is sticking to the script, might need to revisit 21 before further advance (the pages must have got stuck together - perhaps due some over-excited SP massaging) .036 looking good.
I remain sceptical of the wi-fi plans, but am happy to be proven wrong I note they have revised the initial guesstimate of 500,000 users a day to a more modest 100,000 (rephrased as 700,000 per week) eg. Flinders St station has 110,000 commuters per day to capture the percentage of wi-fi users, say 10% they would need to cover the 14 platforms that would mean installing approx 50 hubs. To achieve numbers like 100,000 per day I imagine they would need to provide wifi to all platforms on the city loop. A considerable undertaking.
Of course GCN are not involved in the logistics of the roll out that's the remit of the mighty Netbay.
Once the wi-fi is up, perhaps GCN will tempt users with some of their premium content http://gigaom.com/2010/06/14/starbucks-free-wifi/
They definitely need to be cementing relationships with media buyers on their IPTV platform, even if they were to give advertising space away free. There foot is jammed in the door, so they should at least be soliciting through the gap. http://www.tonystechtalk.com.au/internet-tv-advertising-set-to-surge/
