Yeah, My guess is there must have been a tussle over the UCTV asset
and in the shake-out GCN kept the IP/brand but lost the core asset driver
- the key personnel. They are no doubt trying to consolidate the asset and rebuild. The music channel content would have been an influential element in achieving their enviable market position of having major manufacturers distribute their offering preloaded on smartTVs.
One should not underestimate the value of people's laziness.
The consumer turns on the TV, GCN is there, the punter doesn't have to get off the couch.
GCN needs to be milking that or someone else will.
