The occupancy levels of Gem did increase in the last 6 months. That though is seasonal, but they were also more selective with their purchases.
There is 'huge daylight' between them and the other corporates, but that gap is becoming smaller. I cannot comment on the daylight between them and the not for profit sector, but would be interested if you could post some of the fundamentals on Goodstart, community based or any other not for profit you are aware of.
I look forward to seeing how all sectors of early childhood education will respond to the upcoming challenges ahead.
The chronic shortage of child care spaces applies mainly to capital cities. I can assure you there are many centres in regional areas, both private and corporate who would reporting occupancy levels of around 60% this week.
I am still undecided which of the corporates is offering the best value and who is doing the better job at this time.
When I do reach that decision, I will happily invest in that company.
