Value - Berkshire is not a valid comparison. It is a holding entity for other listed & unlisted companies.
The companies that Berkshire invest in most certainly DO pay dividends, and this is one of Buffets top criteria when selecting his investments (BAC, AAPL, OXY, CVX, Coca Cola etc).
A sustainable and growing dividend yield is essential for realising for value in an investment. Buffet just doesn't pay dividends at the Berkshire holding co level because he prefers to reinvest into further opportunities (or just sit on heaps of cash like currently)
