Excellent news to see shorters being banned. It would be nice to get a more transparent market and a market that will move, based on fundamentals, either up or down. Shorting has killed off many companies on the ASX some companies simply do not have enough buyers and liquidity once the shorters keeps dumping ever larger parcels on the market day in day out.
Now we only need some regulation regarding bots imho. I do not mind the bots but I do not except the fact that they can trade these ridiculous small share parcels and hereby influence the SP. For me this is just another form of manipulation.
UMC certainly has some interesting times ahead.
