the mathematical analyses that you are dismissing as rubbish are used throughout the project engineering industry, for example these EV type calculations would be essential calculations prior to building a new airport, for example, or a freeway, especially where the project will be privately owned and subject to tolls or other charges for the users
so why not use these methods for mining companies such as MCO?
these techniques have proven to be reliable though they have some deficiencies
