The “relevant” number is what your cost of acquisition and what the market valuation is. Buying VMC has proven to be a terrific hedge and if your investment is > cost you have made a good decision with the opposing option being in the red. Mathematically, the loss on owning VMC has presently been more than offset by the RXL shares issued.
