Additionally, as an aside, my understanding is that agglomeration takes place in a fluid bed, (where else!!) and they are not using any binders (and presumably that includes flocculants).
OK. So we've got a strongly acidic and therefore probably enclosed environment, some filters (carbon?), and some heat (for the calcination). And a presumption of no binders or flocculants.
Possible variables - pH, heat, wash solution?, pressure and rate of flow of the liquor. May be a reagent to help change state (valence) ???
Very intriguing - could that be the actual patent application? I can't seem to navigate anywhere from that page, but I've been having linking probs.....
