interesting point SF- i always thought that momentum investing was only upside, but as you rightly say it applies to downtrend as well, ironically, probably even more so as panic is a much bigger human emotion.
ps- i just wonder about the psychological difference for buyers and sellers between $5.00 and $4.99 . there always is an extra huge volume of buyers ready to buy at the $4.99 rather than the $5 SP.
