mdl - ticor/iscor interested? Bit more digging has come up with the following. Iscor - which is Ticor's major shaerholder own around 15% of MDL. This holding came about in relation to a deal Ticor had with MDL re an Indian mineral sands project. Under that JV deal Ticor had to sole fund the first $12 mill so after a feasibility study that showed reasonable returns Ticor saaid not interested on these terms and withdrew. If Ticor were still interested in the project it would be much cheaper for them to takeover MDL (even at prices double today) then fund the first $12 mill. e.g. Ticor/Iscor pays 24CPs for MDL comes to $20 mill. Sells off cash and inventory and equipment and mining lease etc. at around 18 CPS comes to $15 mill. Means they get control of Indian project for $5 mill.
The above maths doesn't mean it's happening but it is a possibility. Any thoughts?
