My gut feeling is that the gold will surge again tonight passing $1800, regardless of the NFP figure.
The signal seems to be that central banks are not in a hurry to lift the rates too soon, probably 2023. Of course, they said this countless times, it seems that traders/investors wanted to hear it one more time.
The gold price action seems to want to do that considering that it dropped to the $1760 support and then after the press conference steadied at around $1773. Last night, it surged $25 up to the 200MA, then retreated, but considering that USD went up 3 quarters of a cent compared to Euro, gold was unusual strong which made me think that the breakout is very near.
Once the NFP figure is released tonight, I expect to be the usual volatility, then it will pass $1800.
The aussie goldies are also very strong today, which is also unusual, and NST is leading the pack, my gut feeling is they preempt the breakout tonight...Probably, the gap at opening will be categorized as breakout gap and it will not be closed...of course my opinion only.
