Glory review could see Sage walk away.

Sage revealed to The Weekend West yesterday that he was pushed to the brink of quitting last week.

Sage, who lost $3.8 million on ailing Glory last year.

"I was very seriously considering pulling the pin," he said yesterday. "It's a passionate game. You get angry. You get upset. The crowds are down. You have to move offices. You make a decision you are not going ahead."

Sage said a recent business transaction, which netted one of his companies a $170 million windfall.

But the mining entrepreneur, who has not let his international business dealings prevent him from seeing every home game this season.
