groundzero, thanks for clearing that up! T'was the same in my younger days, but the real difference then was you could at least see what was coming and defend yourself accordingly. They were hard fights, but fair fights, and you definitely didn't sink the boot in, or stomp on the head as they do these days.There is far too much of this type of carnage in this day and age, and i guess my real point was, and is, that the thug should get a mandatory manslaughter conviction, and appropriate penalty (10 years - no parole). Have seen too many walk away in the last decade with nothing more than a bit of 'bad press coverage' and 'time served', including the David Hookes debacle. As the precedents have now all been set over the last decade, this thug will no doubt 'walk' with the same 'fairy floss' sentence and scenario. That is where our legal system sucks, and as you acknowledged, the only real way you could then feel a sense of justice, and bring closure as a father, would be to contemplate revenge against the thug yourself, and that scenario doesn't allow for any rational resolution because then the rest of the family suffers double because Dad's more than likely going to be locked up after that, I think you would agree. wrxsti
