The time chart for the Mill Laterite is below. The confirmed recovery rate was 97% but it stalled below 60% for a while (with this stalled recovery being just under 90% of the fire assay result). The end result was recovering 2.61g/t from a 1.71g/t sample is always a curious event. There are two ways I can think of that would cause this to occur:
1. High variability in the underlying sample, so one side of the DD was 1.71g/t while the other was 2.7g/t.
2. The ore contains gold bearing compounds that are not captured in Fire assay results.

At this stage I'm not sure what follow-up work has been done around the difference. The best case scenario is that in addition to the fire assay reported gold within the laterite pit there are gold compounds which are released over a 24 hour period not captured within the Fire Assay results. This would mean that the grade in reported intercepts is higher and potentially some of the below cut-off grade material is actually above cut-off grade material so there is both a grade and volume implication around the size of the laterite deposit size.

This wouldn't be TG6's first experience with this issue because their early Burmeister Assay's were all under-reported having used mixed acid method when the better method was the sodium peroxide fusion. The lithium assay's were redone with the fusion method and all the assay grades increased (ref Table B, 7 March 2024).
