A lithium-ion battery caught fire before severely damaging a property in East Perth on Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters were called around 1.40pm after a fire was reported in the garage of a home on Constitution Street.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services said the blaze was caused by a lithium-ion battery in storage — which usually powers a motorised golf trolley.
Smoke damage was caused to the home, while the actual fire was isolated to the garage.
The cost of the damage remains unknown.
DFES says the fire was contained and controlled just after 2pm. Everyone was out of the home upon the arrival of emergency services.
