Sumitomo has commenced operation of its first USA vanadium flow battery. It is a 2MW battery.

Those with long memories will recall that Pinnacle (a pre-nom of MRV) had rights to certain vanadium battery technologies and had some sort of licencing deal with Sumitomo. AFAIK the details of the relationship were never clear.

Anyway, the management of PCE proved incapable of bringing the vanadium battery satifactorily to market.

Now another, technically very savvy, operator appears to have done so.

Remember not to get too far ahead of the techology curve. An alternative name for early adopters is 'broke adopters'.
