No specific thread for Vanadium but can someone care to comment on the following:
As an engineer, flow batteries are intriguing. But Vanadium flow batteries have a fundamental economic issue: At currently $32/pound for vanadium, the electrolyte cost of a vanadium redox flow battery alone costs at least $165/kWh capacity. With all-in Li-ion battery cost already approaching these prices, vanadium based flow batteries will struggle.
