Also dirty coal-stone producers came online providing extra supply. We know that China are now a net importer of Vanadium and will be scrambling to sure up supply which bodes well for AVL, however, they will be competing with the Americans who are also a net importer and now have a critical minerals and clean energy mandate.
The V price has been reflecting this and slowly creeping up. The wild ride of 2018 was counterproductive to the uptake of VRFB's, which is only now gaining momentum. China, US, Japan and India are way ahead of us. India plans to roll out micro-grids and will likely follow China in implementing tougher rebar standards. Our politicians lack the foresight to implement our own invention. Proactive companies like AVL/VSUN are why I am long term on this. We have a massive resource, probably 100 yrs mine life. Sure by that time we'll have cold fusion lol but presently the best renewable/grid storage is VRFB.
US launches Section 232 probe into vanadium imports
"the country produced an estimated 470 t of contained vanadium In 2019, whereas its apparent consumption was 8 300 t, according to the US Geological Survey."
