I saw this article as well and to my non-technical mind, it seemed that the VRFB was able to even out the flow of energy (as in avoiding the sudden spikes and then drops over the course of the day/evening)... So if it works like that, retroactively fitted onto a single solar roof system then that would imply that on a larger scale, it could also be the answer to the bugbear of inconsistent supply that the grid operators talk about on those grids that use a lot of renewables (or maybe it's more the politicians talking about it haha)... So it's an existing fix to an existing problem where the main infrastructure is already in place and putting in this new tech would even out our renewable energy supply thus quashing any possible objections to using more renewables into grid? Can any tech specialists confirm if my (limited) understanding of this is correct?
