I always find the FID decisions strange, as surely they have an idea now if they are going ahead or not... Finance partners and Vince himself putting feelers out even over the next Month would give some idea how uphill the battle might be to put together funding... Speaking regularly about how the economics of the project are favourable, etc, and all the work put in for 15 years as per the original YRR announcement posted recently, do they get to end of 2022 and say 'No, we have decided to not go ahead with the project'?

Unless the economics of a project are just down right horrible and clearly spell disaster for anyone even attempting to make it work, which would be known a lot sooner than final BFS anyway, I just don't see any company not deciding to go ahead with it, even if it does end up meaning the company fails several years down the track.
Maybe it all makes sense for like, the exploration arm of BHP where small side projects can get 10's of millions poured into them and then a decision to pass the project on to someone else seems a better option, I don't think it's really even relevant to small companies built around a single project..

I haven't worked in the mining industry though, so maybe it is just a cemented in formality to have an official FID date somewhere after a DFS, but who thinks Vince is doing a single thing right now that isn't based on the decision having already been made to get this project off the ground?

Just sharing my thoughts on something strange to me, but probably makes sense if I had the proper context.
