Any company, regardless of it's sector, has to go back to the drawing board if agreements, MOU's, approvals, etc need to change due to economic or political circumstances. The hype of renewables may die out in favour of diesel if it's acquirable and helps the project run along sooner rather than later. Likewise, if there's a strong enough belief that waiting longer and spending more to establish more renewable fuel sources will act in favour of the companies image, they will do so accordingly.

Fact is that most junior/exploration mining companies don't actually have the workforce capability to meet the logistics requirements. These are often decided later once drilling has been confirmed, approvals granted, funding comes through, share price rises as a result of drilling, etc. In this case they either run a snap recruiting process, or in most cases, contract/rent existing freight companies. That's important to note because most fleet trucks run solely on diesel and those companies don't have the ability nor interest to transition to EV's that quickly - especially if they can mass acquire used vehicles. Personal, metropolitan EV's are practical due to the safety of having sites nearby. The entire freight industries trade workforce has been trained and certified for diesel and the transition to a workforce who can accomodate for EV maintenance that far regional will be slow.
