A race to be first in Oz? Sounds familiar. AVL have obligation deadlines but still seemingly in preplanning stage and not forthcoming with any new details. An update/good news story would be cathartic right about now.
Why not ride the bandwagon and update on the VRFB trials (WA water/IGO) too. Perhaps there's nothing in Santas sack this year? Some old news while we wait...

In July, AVL was awarded a $3.69 million federal government grant which it says will allow it to design, build and operate a $7.4 million commercial vanadium battery electrolyte plant as well as develop vanadium redox flow battery prototypes for both off-grid and residential settings. Conditions of the grant dictate the manufacturing project must be fully completed by March 31, 2024.
Shortly after being awarded the grant, AVL signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with specialty chemical producer U.S. Vanadium LLC (USV) for the supply of vanadium oxides and, perhaps more importantly, gives AVL an exclusive technology licence for Australia and New Zealand to use USV’s proven electrolyte manufacturing technology.
This, the company says, will “simplifying design, construction, and startup” of its future manufacturing plant.

Soon VSUN will be rolling out the first installation of a vanadium redox flow battery at a mine site on a single production pump at IGO’s Nova Nickel Mine.
“We’re building an electrolyte plant in Kwinana, we’ve got a very special technology sharing agreement with US Vanadium, where they have a proprietary and cheap method of mixing electrolyte for the market,” Algar said.
