It is the nation’s largest provider of mutual funds, and the second-largest provider of exchange-traded funds, also known as ETFs." Last time I looked they sat at $5 trillion, they are now closing in very close to Blackrock at $9 trillion. Why is this interesting well Vanguard from AVH last annual report position them as top shareholder spot with 4.54% holdings, with Blackrock at 1.86% holding (Pura Vida sits second position with 3.43% holding ). If the big end of town are in for the ride then your investment is good as secured.
