July 16 (Bloomberg) -- Extract Resources Ltd., an Australian mining company planning a uranium project in Namibia, said it’s studying a wide range of development and funding options after it was contacted regarding the venture.

“Extract can confirm that a number of parties have contacted the company to express potential interest in participating” in the South Rossing project, the Perth-based company said today in a statement to the Australian stock exchange.

The company and its adviser, Rothschild, are reviewing “various corporate and business options” to bring the mine into production, Extract said. The company has received no takeover offers, it said, responding to an unspecified media report.

Extract rose 2.8 percent to A$6.96 in Sydney trading. The stock has surged more than fivefold this year, taking its market value to A$1.6 billion ($1.3 billion).
