I think the idea of "further steps" or getting more spiritual creates the erroneous idea of a path toward something outside of ourself. The search ends when you realise you are that, there is nowhere to be, nothing to do.
For what it is worth I would suggest that you live the truth, perhaps be completely and utterly consumed with money or making it and see where that leads you.
Not to judge you, lol, but your comment directed toward Tolle had an element of judgement. I wouldn't put the gurus or experts on a pedestal. They are men (and women) all with failings and weaknesses like all of us despite what we know and profess to live.
