vba agm - m & a question??

Not sure if anyone else picked up on the answer to the question posed to VBA about mergers & aquisitions at the AGM today??

I thought the start of the response was a little interesting..."I'm not at liberty to say" I think by NC which I'm guessing was then interrupted by BG who went on to talk in general terms about the nature of the market and that was a likely outcome etc etc. Or was it all from BG...or all NC - regardless the statement seemed a bit unusual.

Anyhow I didn't feel overly convinced from this statement that something isn't going on. The "I'm not at liberty to say bit" just seemed a little to much along the lines of "I can't disclose that yet".

Any thoughts or am I just losing the plot??
