I agree gmt, these patients are on their death beds, all normal medical intervention for prolonging life has been exhausted but, the buck stops with the ethics committee of the Alfred Hospital ( I'm sure they would have had each patient sign a compensation waiver form ). Still it doesn't look good for the hospital if patients are dying during this trial.

I have no doubt that if the patients selected were in better health before receiving this surgery the results would be much better than they are at the moment.

I think VCR will recover from this unfortanate loss but it could take some time.
